I’ve always been drawn to connection—whether it’s with the people I meet in my work, the loved ones in my life, or the natural world around me. I find peace and inspiration in reading, running, working in my yard, camping, and exploring new places. Time with friends and family, and navigating life’s adventures continually remind me of the resilience, joy, and meaning we can find even in life’s challenges. These same values guide my work as a therapist, where I strive to create a space of trust, compassion, and growth for every person I meet.

The Heart of Whispering Woods
When I was a young girl, there was a camp called Whispering Woods. Each summer, I would find myself there—tucked away among the trees, surrounded by laughter, campfires, and the gentle voices of counselors who truly saw me.
Home wasn’t always an easy place, but camp became my safe haven. It was where I could breathe deeply, feel free, and for the first time in my life, believe that I was valuable just as I was. Those summers were where I learned what it meant to be accepted, to connect deeply with others, and to begin letting go of the hurts I carried from childhood.
The name Whispering Woods holds all of that for me—safety, belonging, healing. When I started my practice, I knew I wanted to create that same kind of place for others. A place where we can walk together through the winding paths of your story, finding moments of light, connection, and hope.
Here, I believe the same thing I learned in those woods: healing is possible, and you are worth the journey.

My Theoretical Approach to Counseling and Wellness
My theoretical approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Theory, Brief Solution Focused Therapy (BSFT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with a focus on motivational interviewing (MI). I incorporate recovery principles and into treatment to support people who wish to be in recovery and sober from alcohol and other substances.
Together, we will reflect on your symptoms and find sources and solutions. I may provide journaling activities, handouts, and questionnaires to help you explore your problems and find tools and solutions to improve your mental health and well-being. I believe that every client is an individual with unique beliefs and needs and that therapy is a collaboration between the client and the therapist that honors that uniqueness. Counseling sessions will focus on some of the following areas: relational attachments, faulty thinking, personal core beliefs, self-concept, self-awareness, mindfulness, acceptance, problem solving, building a healthy support system, responsibility, incorporation of your personal faith or spiritual beliefs in treatment (if you choose), readiness to change, and goal setting.
